Dr. Michael Sughrue
Co-Founder, Director & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Michael Sughrue is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Omniscient Neurotechnology, where he leads the mission to transform brain surgery and neurology through the power of connectomics. A world-renowned neurosurgeon and researcher, Dr. Sughrue has performed over 4,000 brain tumor surgeries and authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, including the definitive textbook on the human connectome. Before co-founding Omniscient, he served as the Director of the Comprehensive Brain Tumor Center at the University of Oklahoma and later established a high-volume neurosurgery practice in Sydney, Australia. Driven by a vision to make advanced brain mapping accessible to every clinician, he bridges the gap between complex data science and life-saving surgical precision, cementing his reputation as a global leader in the "Connectomic Revolution."
Dr. Stephane Doyen
Co-Founder, Director & Chief Data Scientist
Dr. Stephane Doyen is Co-Founder and CTO of Omniscient Neurotechnology. He holds a PhD in neuroscience, specialising in computational neuroscience and cognitive process modelling, and is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. Before co-founding Omniscient, he led advanced analytics and machine learning programs at Oliver Wyman, designing and deploying large-scale data and AI systems across major organisations and industries. That combination of scientific depth and enterprise-scale execution shapes his approach to building technology.
At Omniscient, Dr. Doyen has played a central role in developing the world's first platform for mapping human functional brain connectivity at scale, authoring core algorithms and driving the technical vision that has helped turn connectomics from a research concept into a clinical tool. Passionate about applied AI, he focuses on how technology can augment human capability, particularly in healthcare.
He is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and the lead inventor on a portfolio of patents in functional brain mapping. Under his technical leadership, Omniscient has secured multiple FDA clearances, among the first of their kind in the field.
Todd Smalley
Vice President, Americas
Todd Smalley is the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Americas at Omniscient Neurotechnology, where he spearheads the global expansion and market adoption of the company’s connectomic mapping solutions. A seasoned executive with extensive experience in the medical device and healthcare technology sectors, Smalley is known for his ability to bridge the gap between breakthrough clinical innovation and large-scale commercial success. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions at several prominent medical technology firms, where he specialized in driving revenue growth, building high-performing sales organizations, and navigating the complexities of the U.S. healthcare landscape. At Omniscient, he is the driving force behind the company’s mission to bring data-driven precision to neurosurgery and neurology departments across the globe.
Stephen Scheeler
CEO & Managing Director
Stephen Scheeler is the CEO of Omniscient. Formerly, Scheeler was part of Facebooks’s foundational team and one of the company’s global leaders. His roles included CEO of Facebook Australia and New Zealand, where he helped guide the platform’s meteoric rise from Silicon Valley startup to technology titan. He is the founder of the advisory firm The Digital CEO, a former Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company, and former Executive-in-Residence at the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Adam Fraser
Chief Operating Officer
Adam Fraser is the Chief Financial Officer of Omniscient Neurotechnology, where he oversees the company’s global financial strategy, capital raising, and internal operations. With a career spanning over two decades in high-growth technology and financial services, Fraser brings a disciplined approach to scaling "deep tech" ventures from early-stage startups to international category leaders. Prior to joining Omniscient, he held senior leadership roles in several prominent Australian and global firms, specializing in navigating complex regulatory environments and executing strategic M&A activities. At Omniscient, he is the commercial architect ensuring that the company’s groundbreaking advancements in brain mapping are matched by a robust, sustainable business model capable of transforming global healthcare.
